Everyone likes windows. Everyone except us. We hate them. We would rather stare at some closet doors. Get that window out of here!
We started with this
We taped up the window really well beacause we weren't sure if we were going to break it trying to get it out.
iLan started sawing around the window. We got a reciprocating saw for the job and it came in handy!
In a matter of moments, it was GONE! Here is a nice view of our neighbors garage roof for you.
So then it was time to fill the hole with some wall.
I hope you all realize how safe we are while we work. Yes, that ladder is being supported by a 2x4 held on with a clamp. A clamp with 100 pounds of pressure. Top of the line here, folks. Nothing but the best for us. If you are concerned, try not to worry. We have ordered a new ladder and it should be arriving any day now.
Filled and not looking too bad, if I do say so myself.
Well, I guess it looks better from the inside. We have too much to do inside the house to worry about the exterior yet.
One project down...
P.S. Have you ever looked into buying closet doors? All of closet doors we saw in Home Depot were pretty ordinary except for one. But they are SUPER expensive. More than closet doors have a right to cost! So iLan is going to make us some awesome closet doors himself. That will show them.
While iLan had been cutting the subfloor, I started taking some shelves off of the wall. They were heavy!
Before
After
While I was doing this, iLan was cutting the perimeter of the subfloor. We soon realized pulling up the subfloor would be easier without the drywall on top of it. So we put the subfloor on hold and started tearing out the drywall. We started with a wall that was seperating where our bedroom will end up. And it went a little something like this.
Side one
Side 2
Just some bones
And then it was gone!
From this...
To this!
Wondering what's next? Check back for more drywall maddness! Bwah hahaha!!!
So. we had made a pretty big dent in the garage, but there was still so much to do. Let's go!
Before After
We were throwing a lot of stuff away...
But we tried to give it away, too.
I was so excited to start seeing the floor! I was sweeping any time we got an area cleared.
Before After
It was finally starting to take shape as a future workshop. iLan is going to have so much room, I can hardly wait to see what he will be creating in here someday! Still more...
Well... We bought a house in Greenwood, WA. It is what most people might call a "fixer upper". And we are stoked! We will be using this blog to keep track of the remodelling progress. We'll be moving in some time in August, so we've got 2 or so months to make this puppy livable. Here are the before pictures!

As we start to work on individual projects, we will be updating with more content.
Current projects in the works, raised bed cleanup, crawl-space cleanout, garage cleanout. After those projects we'll possibly be tackling the roof. Followed by some real work. We'll be tearing out the floor in half the house. Moving some walls, and fixing some damaged areas. More details to follow!
